Fortified Standards

Your roof serves as the first line of defense for your home. Research confirms that it is both the most critical and most vulnerable part of any building. To enhance roof resilience against severe weather, the IBHS FORTIFIED Roof™ construction standard was developed based on extensive field and lab studies of structural damage caused by high winds. The required upgrades have proven effective in improving roof performance, both in controlled high-wind simulations conducted in IBHS’s state-of-the-art lab and in real-world events involving severe windstorms.
